This project is the brain child of our founder and president Dr. Carolyn Crocheron who has seen first-hand the basic needs of children and babies as well as the physical and economic needs of women and the poor in both Kenya and Ghana.
After learning of a plane crash in her beloved Kenya whose passengers were members of a team that were headed for peace talks in Marsabit, she began work on creating a living memorial that could continue to bring meaning to the lives and hopes for peace that had led these people to take this journey. Additionally, it is her desire to also assist those who are under-served in Pakistan particularly women and youth. To this end, collaboration has been established with the Organization for Peace and Development.
OBJECTIVE: The objective of these facilities is primarily to uplift (through training and health care) those who may otherwise never have the opportunity to advance in their societies. Additionally, as there is not adequate health care facilities in rural areas, it is our aim to train medics (nurse aids) to meet the needs of family, friends and neighbors of those trained and to offer them expanded opportunities in the larger world.
As lack of water is the cause of disease and oftentimes fighting, Peace of the World International saw the building of wells and clear water centers a natural addition to each VTC/Clinic compound.
Education, training and health for children and youth are primary focuses of Peace of the World International's (POWI)programs and projects. The input and contribution that youth can make to bring about a world with peace is a founding principle on which Peace of the World International is built.
Keeping this in mind, we thank you for your support of Peace and the development of children and youth.
