World Peace Flame to be the heart of
the Peace Complex at Huri Hills
Kenya, E. Africa
It is with great humility that we take this opportunity to speak to and address the sacrifice made by 14 people who boarded a plane on 10 April 2006 and never returned home. They set out that day with the intention of making peace between tribes of the Marsabit District in Kenya E. Africa. The deceased were two assistant ministers, four members of parliament (MPs) Hon. Bonaya Godana, one pastor of the Anglican Church of Kenya, one provincial commissioner and one district commissioner.
A memorial is being built to honor their memory and their mission of peace. The centerpiece of this memorial is a monument which will house the World Peace Flame. With the assistance of the World Peace Flame organization headquartered in the Netherlands, the first stage of this project has begun. The name of the Memorial has yet to be selected; however its purpose was clear from the first letter sent by Dr. Crocheron to the World Peace Flame office.
About the World Peace Flame
The World Peace Flame was created in 1999 when, for the first time in history, seven Flames of Peace were lit on five continents, flown across the oceans and united into one. Since that time, people across the world have had remarkable, transformative experiences in the presence of candles lit from the World Peace Flame. Across the globe, people are using the World Peace Flame to bring an extra dimension of peace, clarity and kindness into their homes, workplaces, schools, hospitals and places of worship. It has been presented to international decision makers and installed in monuments in major cities.
Through the tireless efforts of Dr. Crocheron and Peace of the World Intl Board members in Kenya, the first eternal World Peace Flame will burn in Africa. Monument design and construction are underway and a ceremony to light the flame is planned for early 2008 in Marsabit District, Kenya, E. Africa. More specific details will follow soon.
